BCS defeats Homewood in area match

Briarwood took down Homewood in four sets Sept. 17 in area play.

The Lions opened up with a loss in the first set, dropping it by a score of 21-25. Down 0-1, BCS bounced back in the second set, taking a 25-15 win in the second set.

In the third set, the Lions were able to take another convincing win, defeating the Patriots 25-16.

With a commanding lead in the match, the Lions posted their strongest set yet. Briarwood absolutely dominated Homewood in the fourth set, walking away with a 25-7 win.

Madison Chambers led the Lions with 12 kills and three blocks, Hope Donahue had 20 digs and five aces, Molly McKenzie posted 14 assists, Christie Robertson had 12 assists and three aces and Rachel Nix had nine kills and two aces also for BCS.

With the win, the squad moves to 14-5 on the season, and 1-1 in the area play. Briarwood will travel to Chelsea Sept. 19 to take on the Hornets.
