Raymond Carl Lyon, age 89, of Vestavia Hills, and formerly of North Shelby County, died on Nov. 1, 2013. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana with visitation on Nov. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery.

Mr. Lyon is survived by his wife, Margaret Stinson Lyon, formerly of North Shelby Co. now Vestavia Hills; daughter, Sherry Lyon White of North Shelby Co.; sons, Ray Lyon (Sheila) of North Shelby Co. and Sam Lyon (Karen) of Coral Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Ann (Greg), Kate, Rush, Eli (Beverly), Erin, Ben (Shelly), Wade, Stinson, Samantha and Ray; great-grandchildren, Tasha, Megan, Patrick and Brennan; great-great-grandchildren, Jade and Byron.

Mr. Lyon was married to Margaret Stinson Lyon for 70 years. He loved his family. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later flew his own plane. Please sign online condolences at Boltonfuneralhome.com.
