COLUMBIANA – Jim Burke Subaru has teamed up with the Shelby Humane Society to host an off-site pet adoption, which will be held Dec. 14 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Birmingham car dealership.

The off-site adoption day is part of the nearly two-month-long “Share the Love” event going on at Jim Burke Subaru, according to a press release. From Nov. 21-Jan. 2, Jim Burke Subaru is donating $250 to the owner’s choice of participating charities, one of which is The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which has provided grant money to Shelby Humane in the past.

“Shelby Humane Society is striving this December to send all of out adoptable pets home for the holidays,” said Executive Director Sara Shirley. “We are so grateful to Jim Burke Subaru and ASPCA for helping to make this big dream a reality.”

All funds received by Shelby Humane will be used to spay and neuter 30 pets that will be available for adoption on Dec. 14, Shirley said. All pets adopted at the event will also receive a “Take Me Home” kit with start-up pet care items.

Also a part of the Share the Love event, Jim Burke Subaru will host a supply drive from Dec. 21-Jan. 2 to stuff the trunk of a Subaru with items from Shelby Humane Society’s wishlist, according to the press release. The most needed items are dry dog food and canned food for dogs and cats.

Jim Burke Subaru is located at 1301 Fifth Avenue North, Birmingham.  For more information about the “Share the Love” Adoption Event, visit Shelbyhumane.org or Aspca.org/Subaru.
