MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo men’s and women’s basketball teams will celebrate Christmas with the help of Freddie the Falcon and the Deer Valley Elementary School Dance Crew during their Peach Belt Conference games Tuesday, Dec. 17 against GRU Augusta at Trustmark Arena.

The women’s game is set for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off, followed by the men’s game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free. Those in attendance are invited to bring a canned good to donate to a Christmas food drive.

Freddie the Falcon will be making his way through the crowd, delivering Christmas surprises to children in attendance.

In addition, the Deer Valley Dance Crew will be in attendance to help celebrate the festive season with a dance to “Oh Santa!” at halftime of the men’s game.

The DVDC is comprised of fourth-grade students who had to go through an audition process and be selected as a part of this team. The dance team from the Hoover elementary school performs at various venues around the Birmingham area.
