Frank Owen Sr., age 78, of Columbiana, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at his home with family at his side. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Dec. 27, at The First Baptist Church of Columbiana, where he is a member, with Rev. Mike Miller and Rev. Roland Foster officiating. The burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service, 1-2 p.m. at the church. Mr. Owen retired from Kimberly-Clark after 36 years of service. While serving four terms on the Columbiana City Council, he also served as Chairman of the Columbiana Gas Board. He coached shirt and cap baseball for nine years (The Stealers). Mr. Owen enjoyed golf, fishing, drinking coffee and playing cards with his friends.

Mr. Owen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Owen; sons, Frank Owen Jr., Scott Owen (Taylor) and Clay Owen (Barbara); grandchildren, Parker Owen, John-Thomas Owen, Connor Owen, Jessie Petty and Brandy Reneau; as well as other family and friends.
