Mission accomplished: Hoover High football takes back-to-back state titles

- When asked to put together a show at the Parnell Memorial Art Gallery, Laurie Orr Binion decided to include the works of fellow members of the Alabama Art Colony.
They did it. Again.
The 2013 Hoover Bucs captured their second-straight AHSAA Class 6A football state championship with a 20-3 win over Auburn High School on Dec. 6.
The Buccaneers did it in their traditional style: not a lot of flash, just well-executed, fundamental football.
After making back-to-back trips to the state finals and coming away empty-handed in 2010 and 2011, the Bucs made a decision to pursue greatness, and dedicated themselves to working hard to not just making the state championship game, but winning it.
