For years, Missy Campbell has had a dream of being a conduit for God’s grace in the lives of women who need a jump start toward a new lifestyle.

By volunteering at the Lovelady Center in Birmingham, her eyes were opened to a way she could help these ladies in their quest for self esteem and independence. Lovelady Center is an organization to house, protect and encourage women who have been battered, abused, neglected and mostly overlooked by today’s society.

Imagine being at the “bottom of the barrel” and having a chance for shelter, Christian counseling and help toward a brighter future.

As the new owner of Shear Grace Hair Salon on Alabama 119 South, Missy Campbell is prepared to stretch her clientele, services offered, special appointments and most of all her Christian dedication. Campbell plans to work with the Lovelady Center to help those who are “helping themselves.”

When approved for job interviews, these ladies will be offered a free makeover at Shear Grace.

“Fifteen years ago I joined an industry that became my career, as well as developing in me a deep sense of love and gratitude for what I do,” she said. “I have been blessed to work alongside those who have shared their gifts and knowledge with me. God has opened many doors for me, and it is my goal to minister in whatever way I can so that God’s grace will be extended to all who enter my shop.”

A resident of Jemison (her hometown), married to Phillip Campbell and mom to one daughter, one son and two stepsons, Campbell and her family attend Union Springs Baptist Church in Randolph.

Enjoying time with her immediate family or church family is a favorite activity for Campbell, along with simple pleasures such as enjoying the natural surroundings God has made with maybe an occasional trip to the beach or mountains makes Campbell happy.

“I am my very happiest when I can make people smile and help them to succeed,” she said.

Cuts, colors, highlights, glossing, waxing, relaxers and Keratin smoothing are offered as well as special appointments.
