Have you experienced issues with your vehicle after the snow storm? If so, you’re not alone.
“Alabama is not immune to cold weather, as we’ve seen with the recent snow and ice,” said Jim McCorstin with Cahaba Tire Pros. “When the temperature starts to dip, it’s a good idea to think about your vehicles and take steps to ensure optimal winter-weather engine operation.”
When it’s cold outside, allow your vehicle to warm up before you shift into gear and head down the road, McCorstin said.
Here are a few tips from Cahaba Tire Pros:
• Check the antifreeze level in the radiator
• Check the air pressure in your tires
• Check the windshield wiper blades for wear
• Check hoses and belts for wear
• Check fluid levels
“For every 10-degree drop in temperature, you can lose between two and four pounds of air pressure per tire,” McCorstin said. “So, if it’s 70 degrees Fahrenheit and it drops to 30 degrees Fahrenheit, you’ll lose about 10 pounds of air pressure in each tire.
According to McCorstin, each of the service technicians at Cahaba Tire Pros has between 15 and 18 years of experience in the auto service industry.
“We’re located at 3406 Pelham Parkway; we’ve been here 37 years; just look for our sign and stop on in,” said McCorstin. “We’d be happy to check your vehicle and provide you with quality service and tires.”
