Thanks for help during storm

Dear editor,

My wife, Debbie was returning to our home in Brentwood, TN on Tuesday from a visit with our daughter in Pensacola. She got caught in the ice storm and it became obvious that she would not be able to make through Birmingham. She decided to stop in Alabaster and try to find a room. I was calling for her and quickly realized that all hotel rooms were booked. She got off at Alabaster and I told her there was a hospital that she might be able to spend the night and at least get out of the elements. I was worried that she may have to spend the night in her car.

She went to the hospital where she and many others were welcomed by the staff. They even gave them dinner. The roads were still treacherous today so she decided to spend another night there. We are so grateful for the hospitality that the staff of Baptist Medical Center showed to folks in a time of distress. My wife and I really appreciate it very much.
