Mr. and Mrs. Trent Williams of Alabaster have announced the engagement of their eldest daughter, Miss Breanna Michelle Williams, to Mr. Brian James Kern, a son of Mr. Vincent Kern, of Snellville, Ga., and Ms. Pamela Kern of Lawrenceville, Ga.

Miss Williams is a graduate of Thompson High School and received a bachelor of arts in French language and literature from the University of Alabama. She is a flight attendant with US Airways in Philadelphia, Pa. Her father, formerly of Waynesboro, Miss., is with Alden Systems. Her mother, formerly of Huntsville, is with Alabaster City Schools. They are members of Kingwood Church. Her grandfather, Mr. Walter Williams of Waynesboro, Miss., retired from W.C. Pitts Construction. Her grandmother, Ms. Christine Cooley Williams, is also of Waynesboro, Miss. Her late maternal grandfather was Mr. Victor C. Dennis of Shelbyville, Tenn. Her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Toon Freeman is the wife of Mr. David Freeman. They reside in Fayetteville, Tenn.

The prospective groom received a bachelor of science in nuclear and radiological engineering and a master of science in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an engineering supervisor with Southern Nuclear and resides in Dothan.
