PELHAM—On March 10, the Pelham Board of Education approved the Pelham City Schools Calendar for the 2014-2015 academic year, mirroring the Shelby County School System’s calendar.

In a unanimous vote, the Pelham Board of Education accepted the calendar, which according to Interim Superintendent Dr. Tim Alford “mirrors the Shelby County School calendar in every way.” The only significant difference could be graduation dates, said Alford.

“We built this calendar based off of theirs,” said Alford during the Board of Education meeting. “The two calendars are essentially the same.”

The Pelham City School System 2014-201 academic year will begin on August 7 and conclude on May 21. Students will be off Sept. 1, Oct. 13, Nov. 11, Nov. 24-28, Dec. 22-Jan. 5, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 9 and March 30-April 3.
