The second Mondays of each month will be chock full of government meetings at Alabaster City Hall after the city’s Board of Education recently agreed to changed its meeting times.

The Alabaster School Board will continue to meet on the second Monday of each month, but will move its meeting time to 5:30 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. The new time will go into effect beginning with the April 14 meeting.

Alabaster School Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers said the new meeting time came as a result of the Alabaster City Council’s new meeting schedule, which will go into effect in April.

The City Council previously met on the first and third Mondays of each month, but will start meeting on the second and fourth Mondays of each month beginning on April 14.

Because the School Board and City Council meetings will now fall on the same night each second Monday, the School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. before the City Council’s meeting begins at 7 p.m.

The Alabaster School Board will hold meetings on April 14, May 12, June 9 and July 2014.
