The summer season of Columbiana’s Weight Watchers at Work will begin on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the office of Donald Real Estate, 104 East College Street, Columbiana, next to Renasant Bank across from Davis Drug parking lot.

Weigh-in and registration begins at 3:30 p.m. Meeting, led by Tracey Anderson, will start at 4 p.m.

Weight Watchers at Work winter season at Elvin Hill Elementary School will end April 30. The group has lost more than 400 pounds during the last 20 weeks.

“Weight Watchers helps me stay on track, even when I’m not losing as much as I’d like to,” said member Debra King. “I have the accountability, and I look forward to learning new tips and hearing the encouragement from our leader. Down almost 15 pounds is sure better than zero and where I was. Looking forward to losing the next 15!”

A minimum of 15 people must join on May 7 to be a Weight Watchers at Work meeting; cost is $156 for 12 weeks with E-Tools. If 20 people join on May 7, cost is $186 for 20 weeks. Full payment is due on May 7; however, three checks of equal installments can be written on May 7 and deposited on May 7, June 7 and July 7, 2014.

Kathy Corbitt, a member at Elvin Hill’s meeting, has found that Weight Watchers has worked for her.

“For me, it is the fellowship and accountability,” said Corbitt. “Knowing that friends are also working toward a weight loss goal inspires me. Going to meetings and hearing the inspirational comments also helps keep me motivated.”

Linda Wren, a Life Member, continues to go to Weight Watchers.

“WW works for me because I get a lot of support from the meeting,” said Wren. “I look forward to being with a group that understands struggling to lose weight and enthusiastically celebrates each other’s successes. It is a very good program, but the meetings and the group keep me on the program!”
