FROM STAFF REPORTS

The University of Montevallo women’s basketball program will host a summer day camp June 2-5 along with a June Jam camp June 6-7.

The camps will be directed by Montevallo women’s basketball head coach Cindy Hilbrich along with assistant coach Manisha Redus, as well as current and former Montevallo women’s basketball players.

The day camp is available for all boys and girls from ages 5-17. All aspects of the game are taught for players of all levels. Offensive and defensive stations are run daily. The day camp will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily Monday-Wednesday. The day camp on Thursday will run from 9 a.m.-noon.

The day camp, which includes a camp t-shirt and basketball and lunch Monday thru Wednesday at the University of Montevallo cafeteria, begins with a check-in on Monday morning from 8:15-9 a.m.

The fee for the day camp is $135 per camper. Each individual camper will save $20 if 10 or more players attend the day camp from the same team.  The team coach must email the team roster ahead of time to qualify for discount.

The June Jam is available for any high school or Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team as a team camp. Each team is guaranteed three games and one practice session.

Fees for the June Jam include a $150 charge per team plus a $30 per player fee for commuting campers and a $50 per player fee for overnight campers. A $100 team fee is due May 30 as a non-refundable deposit.

The state of the art McChesney Student Activity Center (SAC), located on the University of Montevallo campus, will be the main playing facility.

Registration forms can be downloaded online.
