HELENA—Helena’s Old Town welcomed Polished, a new nail salon, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 11.

“We’re happy you’re here, you’re certainly complementing what we have here,” Helena Mayor Mark Hall said to Kimberly Tapp, the owner of Polished. “We’d like to help you in any way we can to be successful.”

Tapp, accompanied by her husband and daughter cut the ribbon, officially opening her new business.

“I pretty much did it all myself,” Tapp said of the painting, furniture buying and interior decorating of the cozy new salon, adding her husband is the “computer guy” for the new business.

Polished is located on Helena Road in the heart of Old Town. The salon is fitted with a glass top manicure table and a comfortable pedicure seat.

“I had done nails for 13 years, but I stopped when my daughter was born,” Tapp said. “I was ready to get back into the workforce. I’ve always loved doing nails.”

Polished offers manicures, pedicures, acrylics, gels and a special “princess nails” package for customers 12-years-old and younger, Tapp said. Additionally, Polished can host special occasions, such as a “girls’ night out” and birthday parties.

Polished is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and additional times by appointment. The nail salon can be reached by phone at 908-0514.

“It started out with a lot of prayer and support and work,” Tapp said. “I’m really excited to be here (in Helena).”
