John Lawrence Davis Jr., 66, of Clanton died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014.

He was born on Thursday, Jan. 15, 1948, in Birmingham, son of the late John L. Davis Sr. and the late Elizabeth Varner Davis.

He was a grocery store owner.

Surviving are his wife, Joan H. Davis of Clanton; son, Bill Davis (Ann) of Calera; daughters, Kim Beasley (David) of Calera, Glenda “Sissy” Caffee of Clanton; grandchildren, Olivia Davis and Emily Allen; sister, Linda Davis Muehlberger; and a host of family and friends.

Friends will be received from noon-1 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Pat McWhorter officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
