Winners of the sixth annual Juried Art Shows were announced on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, during opening reception. Cescelia Lorente Fowler (of Hoover) watercolor painting “Lost Roman Wine” was chosen Best of Show. Juanita McGlawn, the Juror, expressed her pleasure with the artwork by describing it as “Very nice use of shape, color and paint manipulation via other materials. The painting has a Batik feel to it and an implied notion of buried treasure.  Shapes in the painting emerge after your initial viewing.”

Other winners include:
Best of Photography, Gary Ricketts (Hoover) – Light and Dark
Best of Mixed Media – Dave Livesay (Columbiana) – ARTifacts
Best of Drawing – Deanne Thorn (Chelsea)
Best of 3D – Ann Fontaine (Sterrett)
Best of Painting – Joan Curtis (Birmingham)
The exhibit is open for public viewing Monday – Thursday, 10am-5pm.  Free Admission.  104 Mildred Street, Columbiana, AL.
