WILSONVILLE—Each month, Wilsonville Elementary School holds an assembly to recognize good citizen in the community.

In August, the Good Citizen assembly focused on school safety, and featured three members of the Wilsonville community, who presented information to the elementary students.

Jeff Vick, a WES bus driver, spoke to students about bus safety and the importance of following all bus rules. Deputy Bloom from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, reminded the students about the importance of not talking to strangers and Davy Edwards, chief of the Wilsonville Volunteer Fire Department, spoke about the importance of knowing how and when to call 911.

“Our Wilsonville community members are always eager to share their knowledge with our students,” WES Principal Maria Tidmore said. “We are so thankful for their service to our community and our students.”
