The Coosa Valley Rebels packed their bags and headed north of the Alabama state line for a road contest with the Lancaster Christian Academy Knights in Lancaster, Tenn. Unfortunately for the Rebels, the injury and illness bug left them with just 14 players dressed out.

Despite the decided disadvantage, the Rebels played the host Knights tough, holding close at halftime, trailing 14-0.

In the second half, however, the Rebels’ lack of depth showed, and the Knights took home the 38-0 win.

Chris Malone had 10 carries for 69 yards, Blake Hardin had 45 yards on 11 carries and Saylor Carroll had 40 yards on 10 carries. Rance Taylor led the Rebels defensively with seven tackles.

The Rebels return to the road Oct. 24, as the squad will travel to Alabaster to face Kingwood Christian.
