Mary Ellen Hamm

Vincent

On Oct. 17 Mary Ellen Hamm went to live with our heavenly father. Daughter of the late Theron and David Holcomb, she graduated from Vincent High School and worked a number of years for the Shelby County School district. She married the late Carlos H. Hamm in 1949. Mary was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a member of several other organizations in the community including the Eastern Star and widows mite. Mary was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She touched the hearts of many with her loving smile, and her presence made the world a kinder, happier place.

She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Gail Williams and husband, Carlos H Hamm. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Elaine and son, Dale Hamm; granddaughters Amanda, Carlena and Sandy; two great- grandchildren, Palmer and Mary Grace and her numerous devoted family and friends.

Mary was a devout Christian who believed in the word of Jesus Christ and eternal life everlasting. Family and friends were invited to celebrate Mary’s life. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 20 at Liberty Baptist Church with Chaplin John Churchill officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 6 pm, Sunday, Oct. 19 at Bolton Funeral Home.
