ALABASTER – On Friday, Dec. 19, Antioch High School came to visit the Kingwood Christian Lions, but were turned away with a loss by a score of 60-53.

Antioch, visiting from Antioch, Tenn., could not match the offensive output produced by Kingwood, being outscored in each of the first three quarters to make the score 45-35 after the third. EJ Grant, who had 11 rebounds and four assists in the game, thwarted their comeback attempt in the last quarter of play.

“EJ does so much for us that doesn’t show up in the stats, he was the difference maker in the game” Kingwood Christian coach Danny Davis said after the game.

Davis also cited Reggie Mann and Justin Gibson for starting the Lions off on the right foot in the first quarter of play, allowing them to get an early jump on Antioch.

Kingwood Christian is currently playing in the Shoemaker/Ward Invitational Tournament taking place in Eufaula.
