Over the past several months, Muriel has been consumed with reading a series of Christian novels about individuals living during the American Civil War. The love of my life has been heartbroken from reading accounts of the brutality of Americans on Americans just 150 years ago.
I know the Holy Spirit will bring thoughts to our minds (conscience) to motivate us. However, on this particular occasion, I believe Muriel’s spirit may have been troubled to motivate me. (Most people have realized that the fastest way to get to me is by contacting Muriel. There, I said it).
Hebrews 3:7-8 states: So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, (8) do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,”
How can the people of a country rip themselves apart, then stand “together” to win two World Wars over the next 80 years?
• 1865 – American Civil War Ends.
• 1945 – World War II Ends.
Could WE really be “One Nation Under God?”
I believe God has continued to bless our nation because of the endless prayers of Christian saints, and also because of the fervent prayers of modern-day Christian prayer warriors. I assure you they’re out there.
Christians were given God’s word, not only for daily guidance, but also for the stories of hope and encouragement. Just read about the lives of Gideon, Esther, Daniel and Elijah. Their stories are not only about the large number of people who stood together against them. Their stories are about the PERSON who stood “together” with each of them.
Acts 2:43-44 states: Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. (44) All the believers were together and had everything in common.
God Bless America!!!
