HELENA–Residents of Helena who are in need of urgent medical care have had to look elsewhere in the past, but now a new urgent care center is opening to serve the Helena community.

It’s About Time Urgent Care will be opening sometime in late February and will be located at 225 Helena Market Place next to the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Marketing Manager Kristie LaRochelle discussed the reason for choosing Helena was the fact that there was a need for an urgent care facility in the area.

“They did a lot of studies on different places and realized Helena wasn’t being served,” said LaRochelle. “We learned that people in Helena are very loyal and they don’t really want to go out of Helena for service unless they have to. They wanted to find a community that needed the services.”

It’s About Time Urgent Care will feature one doctor and one nurse practitioner as well as medical assistants, x-ray technicians and more.

Dr. Deborah Stanford and nurse practitioner Elizabeth Deslattes have worked in urgent care the last 10 years and want to bring compassion and be able to give back to the Helena community.

Some of the services It’s About Time offers include urgent care, occupational health, school and sports exams and Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) exams.

For parents with babies, the urgent care center will see infant’s 3-months-old and up. Most clinics won’t see infants unless they are 2-years-old and up.

After the opening, the hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
