COLUMBIANA – Before Kyle Mims opened the doors of his Edward Jones office in downtown Columbiana in June, he introduced himself to residents and shared information with them about his business.

“I really enjoy the aspect of helping my clients achieve their long-term goals in general,” Mims said. “I have a passion for it. I really wanted to make an impact in people’s lives.”

Mims, 32, moved his office from Clanton to the second floor of the building that also houses Encore Physical Therapy in Columbiana to “be closer to all the clients,” he said.

“We’re a full-service brokerage firm,” Mims said. “Everybody’s investment situation is different, so it’s not one size fits all.”

As a financial advisor, Mims services serious long-term investors, including individuals and businesses, and assists clients in preparing for retirement, college and other milestones.

“What we advise clients to do is come in, do a full financial review and see if you’re still on track to reach your financial goals,” Mims said. “We work with clients that are just starting out to save for retirement, living in retirement, as well as building a personal relationship with them. It doesn’t cost anything for a review.”

Other services Mims provides at Edward Jones include mutual funds, equity investments, estate and trust services, fixed-income investments and annuities.

Mims’ office is one of more than 11,000 branch offices Edward Jones has in all 50 states and through its affiliate in Canada.

The office is located at 101 West College Street Suite 200. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Appointments can be made during office hours or at other times if necessary, Mims said.
