ALABASTER – Alabaster’s Veterans Park will again be the host of the Shelby County Humane Society’s “Bark in the Park” event as it looks to find forever homes for a wide range of dogs.

The annual Bark in the Park event will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Veterans Park off Alabama 119 south, and will feature many family friendly events for both humans and their canine companions.

The event will feature dog adoption booths, vendor booths featuring pet products and even educational activities designed at teaching pet owners the latest techniques.

Bark in the Park will also feature a “Mutt Strut Pawrade,” a vaccine clinic, microchipping, a costume contest, a pet trick contest, a K-9 officer demonstration, an Auburn versus Alabama fundraiser, pet ID tag-making booths, live music, food and treats for humans and dogs, kids activities and more.

Vendors already signed up for the event include the Pampered Pet Resort, Camp Scotty, Oak View Animal Hospital, Patton Chapel Animal Clinic, Valleydale Animal Clinic, Roverchase, the Fetch Dog Treat Truck, Invisible Fence, Dr. Jill Meyer, Jazzy J Designs, Peace, Love and Dog Paws, Adopt a Golden Birmingham and the Animal League of Birmingham.
