CALERA – The women’s golf team won the Full Moon Invitational by 21 strokes and had three golfers finish in the top 10.  The Full Moon Invitational was held September 14-15 at Timberline Golf Course in Calera.

On the first day the Falcons dominated the field cruising to a 12-stroke lead over the nearest competitor, West Georgia.  Three golfers finished the day in the top 10 amd were led by the play of Elaine Wood who shot a 1-under 70 and ended the day tied for first place.

Arin Eddy finished her first round even with a 71, which placed her third for the day.

Morgan Natale rounded out the top 10 for Montevallo finishing tied for eighth place and a 6-over 77.

On day two the Falcons picked up where they left off as they continued to increase their lead over the other competitors.

Wood again led the Falcons as she posted a 2-under 69 to wrap up round two and ended the invitational 3-under par.  Her performance was enough to win her the individual championship.

Two other Falcons finished in the top 10 of the tournament.

Eddy finished fourth with a combined 5-over par while Natale came in seventh place with a combined 10-over par.

The Falcons will be back on the course for the Bearcat Invitational on September 28-29 in Hilton Head, S.C.
