The Alabaster Police Department is assisting the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office and Clanton Police Department in locating a suspect who police believe was involved in multiple vehicle break-ins.

According to the Clanton Police department, the department and the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating multiple recent vehicle break-ins in the area, and officers believe all of them were committed by the same suspect.

While investigating the usage of the credit cards stolen in the break-ins, police were able to track the suspect to the Lowe’s home improvement store in Alabaster’s Propst Promenade shopping center.

On Sept. 30, the Clanton Police Department released surveillance footage from the Lowe’s store showing the suspect and his vehicle at the store at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The images depict a middle-aged man wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and a tan hat. Police believe the suspect left the business’s parking lot at about 11:08 a.m. in a mid-2000s Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.
