Vincent handles Altamont in regular season finale

EJ Datcher scored 17 points and collected 11 rebounds as the Vincent Yellow Jackets beat Altamont by a final score of 55-25 to finish the regular season 22-6. Vincent will host the 2A Area 9 tournament, and will play either Fayetteville or Thorsby on Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.

 

Eagles win third in three days

Oak Mountain won its third game in three days, beating Clay-Chalkville on the road 52-45 to move to 22-7. Yeadon Patrick had 14 points to lead Oak Mountain while Payton Youngblood contributed 10. Oak Mountain will host the 7A Area 5 tournament, and will play Tuscaloosa County on Thursday night at 7:30 in the first round.

 

Briarwood girls beat Leeds

The Briarwood Lady Lions ended the regular season with a 19-9 record after beating Leeds by a final score of 44-33 on Friday. Shelly Proctor had 14 points while Ellie Tarence added 12 in the win. Briarwood will play John Carroll Catholic on Tuesday in the first round of the 6A Area 9 tournament, which will take place at Homewood.

 

Briarwood boys end regular season with win

The Lions of Briarwood ended the regular season with two wins in two days, beating Shelby County 54-52 on Thursday before ending the regular season with a win against Leeds by a final of 50-39. Briarwood will take on Pelham in the first round of the 6A Area 9 tournament on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Homewood High School.
