After an autopsy by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, Pelham Police Department has released the identity of the body found along Interstate 65 near the 246 mile mark.

The victim has been identified as Michael David Garner, 46, from Rogersville. Garner was reported missing to the Pelham Police Department Feb. 4.

According to a Feb. 8 press release, Pelham Police suspects no foul play based on further investigation and the results of the autopsy.

Garner was found at about 12:54 p.m. on Feb. 7, when the Pelham Police Department was notified of a dead body found by a passerby. Responding officers located Garner in the woods about 50 yards off I-65.
