Mrs. Gwendolyn Snell, age 56, of Calera, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Grants Chapel A.M.E. Church Calera, with the Reverends Ruby H. Bustamonet, Bailey and Minister Daryl Richburg officiating. Interment followed in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Calera with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, Fla., directing.

Gwendolyn was born to the late Vera Evans. She faithfully attended Grants Chapel A.M.E, until the time of her illness. Having lived a beautiful life, Gwendolyn, well known and loved. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a faithful friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Oscar Wayne Snell; children, Demetria Richburg(Derrick), Oscar Snell II(Tanisha), and Ricco Jones; grandchildren, DJ Williams, Derrick Richburg Jr., Keelan Snell, Kadence Snell, and Dayson Richburg; her adopted mother, Pauline Mixon; her mother-in-law, Betty Jett; her siblings, Ricky Taylor, Jackie Christie, Wanda Sailes, Philip Mixon, Juanzette Hunter, and Sylvester Mixon Sr., and a host of other relatives, family and friends.
