HELENA–Helena’s largest festival of the year, Buck Creek Festival, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on May 13-14, and the festival has announced the Friday and Saturday night headliners, as well as other musical performers.

The annual festival has grown to become a two-day, family friendly event that exists to raise money for various organizations within the community, as well as to help fund a variety of projects.

Last year, the BCF was one of the most successful festivals in nearly a decade, raising $22,640 in total funds.

The majority of the money was raised through the festival’s popular duck race, which raised $10,610 last year for the Helena High School Band Boosters.

The Friday night headliner will be Deputy 5, a country band based in Birmingham that consists of a four-piece band of bass, drums, lead guitar/fiddle, acoustic guitar and three vocalists.

American Idol 2014 contestant Jessica Meuse will also take the stage to perform on Friday night.

The Saturday night headliner will be Old Southern Moonshine Revival.

“We love our job,” said lead guitarist Brent Lain. “We take it very seriously, but it is hard to not have fun playing music for a living. We enjoy the hard work side of this business. It is gratifying to see our hard work come together into something way bigger than ourselves.”

Also appearing Saturday night will be Nashville recording artist John King. King has recently been an opening act for artists such as Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Cole Swindell.

The presenting sponsor for the 2016 Buck Creek Festival is It’s About Time Urgent Care, which recently opened an office in Helena and presented a $5,000 check to the BCF Committee.

The two-day festival is filled with a number of different vendors, sponsors, volunteers, musicians, performances and more.
