James Thomas “Pookie” Fletcher, age 68, of Pea Ridge, passed away Friday, March 18.

He was a hot-rod enthusiast and loved to spend time with his family. He was a member of Wilton Bible Baptist Church.

Pookie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret “Peggy” Fletcher; daughters, Annette Coggins (Keith) of Alabaster and Anglia Blake (Wesley) of Pea Ridge; grandchildren, Ashley Dennis (Jason) of Montevallo, Christopher Coggins, Jacob Coggins of Alabaster, Cody Blake (Heath) of Calera, Breanne Blake (Nick), and Danielle Blake (Tyler) of Montevallo; great-grandchild, Isabelle Headly of Montevallo; sisters, Brenda Burdett (Doyle) of Pea Ridge and Judy Berryhill of Clanton; brother, Richard Fletcher (Betty) of Verbena; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lennie Fletcher; and parents-in-law, Joseph and Lillie Lawley and Jack Bennett.

His visitation was held Sunday, March 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21 at Rockco, with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery. Pastor Jim Thompson will officiate.
