Helena Telephone Exchange. In 1913, C.T. Davidson brought the telephone to Helena and placed the switchboard in this building, constructed specifically for that purpose. Merchants were thrilled and looked forward “to hearing the ring of the telephone bell” and seeing the rush of delivery wagons as they hurried to deliver the orders received over what was called a modern house convenience.
