Roy M. Loftin, age 96, of Calera, passed away Friday, March 25 at his home.

Roy was a member of Calera Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Evie Loftin; son, Robert E. “Bob” Loftin; great-grandson, Cameron Bush; granddaughter, Tobi Pierce; and grandson, Tony Pierce.

Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 76 years, Ina Mae Loftin; daughters, Linda (Mike) Dorough and Charlotte (Tommy) Pierce; daughter-in-law, Norma Loftin; son, Dan (Kathy) Loftin; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Calera Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at the church which he will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jason Jarvis and Rev. Brook Lovett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
