MONTEVALLO–The inaugural S.E.A. Crawfish Boil will be held at Montevallo’s Main St. Tavern on Thursday, April 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the proceeds benefiting Shelby Emergency Assistance.

The Tavern is located on the corner of Main Street and North Boundary Street in Montevallo.

Advanced tickets are $20 with all the proceeds going to S.E.A. A ticket includes one serving which consist of a pound and a half of crawfish with corn, potatoes plus all the fixings.

Tickets can be purchased at The Tavern or at the S.E.A. office located at 620 Valley St. Montevallo.

The Boil will have live music with Jim Quakenbush. JQ’s One Man Big Band playing jazz and Deputy 5 playing country/southern rock with a little creole mixed in here and there.

S.E.A. executive director Karen Pendleton said that the advanced tickets make it easier to plan ahead for the boil and it allows more proceeds to benefit S.E.A. Pendleton encourages everyone interested in attending to buy tickets ahead of time.

Pendleton said that Shelby Emergency Assistance provides basic needs assistance to Shelby County residents experiencing a crisis.

Last year, S.E.A. assisted 2,223 individuals in Shelby County in meeting their basic needs of food, housing, clothing and medical needs.

S.E.A. has plans to make the crawfish boil an annual fundraiser while adding a few additional features next year to make the event even bigger.
