Anne Klein Davis, age 88, of Columbiana, passed away Monday, Feb. 6.

Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Columbiana United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with the visitation from 10–11 a.m. The internment will be at Pinelawn Gardens in Columbiana. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James T. Davis; and parents, Preston Crowder Klein and Wallace Carnahan Klein.

She is survived by her children, Jim Davis (Lisa), Glenn Davis, and Carolyn Stricklin (Les); grandchildren, Lauren Ruston (Ricky), Treadwell Davis, Graham Davis, Rachel Haney (Dave), and Michael Stricklin (Sarah); and great grandchildren, Davis Ruston and Griffin Ruston.

Anne grew up in Opelika. She graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in 1950 with a degree in sociology. Anne worked as a welfare caseworker for Lee County before moving to Columbiana in 1956.

Anne was a member of the Auburn University 1856 Society, Chi Omega Sorority, Columbiana Culture Club, Columbiana Library Board, member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), Columbiana Beautification Board, and served on the first Advisory Board for the planning of the Shelby County Art Council.

Anne was a long time member of the Columbiana United Methodist Church where she served in various leadership responsibilities and was a member of the Open Door Sunday School class. Anne also served various positions in the United Methodist Women.
