Police move in on illegal immigration
Published Monday, October 27, 2008
ALABASTER Alabaster Police, in cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, served a warrant Friday in connection with a two-year investigation into businesses and individuals employing illegal immigrants.
The warrant was served at Rodriguez Construction on Elder Drive as officers moved in while a helicopter hovered above. Alabaster Police Deputy Chief Curtis Rigney said the warrant was executed shortly before 6 p.m. on Friday.
Temple Black, regional spokesman for ICE in New Orleans, said 31 illegal male Mexican immigrants were detained during the raid. Two of the men — a father and son — were released after questioning.
The men are now being held in the Perry County Correctional Center in Uniontown upon deportation back to Mexico.

Its about time. When I pass area's where they are standing around waiting for someone to offer them work, I always wonder how many would take off running if the ICE were to show up. I am not against legal immigrants, but an illegal one is guilty of a felony, same as the man who robs a store with a toy gun, or a real gun for that matter. I think that as the economy gets tighter, you will see more of the illegals leaving, but if we start enforcing the laws that are on the books NOW, your see more of the illegals leave.

Hello-The word is ILLEGAL! I do not care where they come from if the way they came was illegal, then they should be arrested, not given jobs, free English tutoring, free legal aid etc.Talk about prejuidiced and racial profiling! Why is it that it is ok for Hispanics to be here illegally while people like the Philipinoes and others have to go through years of background checks, medical exams, reference checks etc.??

NO MORE SANCTUARY CITIES OR STATES PROTECTING MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS
1. The number of illegal aliens already here - an estimated 37 million according to the Tucson sector Border Patrol union local 2544 (with an additional half-million coming every year) a massive financial impact on our economy by importing the worlds poor.
2. The Americans who are losing jobs to cheap immigrant labor. In a 1996 study, a Rice University economist estimated that illegal aliens were then displacing 730,000 American workers a year.
3. The costs to taxpayer for welfare, emergency medical services, education, law enforcement and incarceration for "illegal immigrants" and their dependents -and thousands of State, county welfare is estimated at more than a Trillion dollars.

Apply Passport Identification Standards to "Green Cards".
Passport applicants and persons arrested on criminal charges are required to be positively identification. Without fingerprints, photos, blood samples, and criminal background checks for immigrant workers, every legal citizen suffers. Employers, law enforcement, free hospitals and medical care, welfare, social sevices, dentists, free hospitals, pharmacies, and social workers all have become part of a nightmare. It would seem easily possible to work, get laid off, and draw unemployment. One could then assune another false identity, and simultaneously work and/or draw unemployment again. Claiming a large number of dependants allows little or no deductions, and cash wages are easily sent out of the country with money orders. The American Dream can thus be easily stolen and exported to somewhere that may even allow dual citizenship.

Unfortunately, entering the United States in violation of Title 18 USC isn't a felony. Personally, I wish it was. I DO believe re-entering the U.S. after having been deported
is a felony, however. Don't go looking for anything to be done about our current immigration system. It appears the governments way of dealing with is to allow tens of millions more to flood in here, then admit the problem has gotten too big to resolve, so "amnesty" comes into play. Rather than these "token" ICE enforcement actions, I'd like to see
each and every illegal from everywhere rounded up and deported, as well as the 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution being reappealed. These illegals and their
"advocates" have completely prostituted this amendment
to suit their own agenda. The 14th amendment addressed the issue of slaves and their children ALREADY here. Not Paco y Maria managing to sneak in here under the radar before her water breaks and popping out an "Instant U.S. Citizen" thus "anchoring" themselves here. We are the ONLY country that allows, tolerates and attempts to justify it. Look where its gotten California: 15 BILLION dollars in the hole, and the illegals continue to pour in demanding "rights" they aren't entitled to. and turning neighborhoods into 3rd world, disgusting, crime ridden barrio's. Overcrowded schools, Hospitals and E/R's closing, everything printed in spanish, more traffic conjestion, the draining of natural resources, accelerating the crumbling of state infrastructures, overcrowded prisons, as well as an increase in DUI deaths, unlicensed/uninsured drivers, rape and other forms of sexual assaults, pedophilia, burglaries, etc. Thanks to Mexico's oligarchy and our self agrondizing politicians and liberals. Look where it has gotten us. And it WILL come to a theatre near you REAL soon. It's a pathetic shame.
