UM women’s golf breaks school scoring record

The University of Montevallo women’s golf team set a school scoring record in a tri-match with Birmingham Southern College and Spring Hill College at Highland Park in Birmingham on Wednesday. The record was broken by one stroke.
The leading scorer for Montevallo was sophomore Britney Martin who shot a two-round 150. Freshman Emma Breen finished second for the Falcons and seventh overall with a 156. Two spots behind was sophomore Emily Gibson who shot a 157.
UM finished second behind Birmingham Southern but defeated Spring Hill College in the match.
The team will return to action Monday, Sept. 22 in Pensacola, Florida at the Bubba Watson Invitational.
