Local students named to educators honor society
Published Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Six Shelby County natives were recently named members of an international education honor society at the University of Montevallo.
Alabaster residents Shavon Gover and Heather Martin; Montevallo resident Christina Butera; Calera residents Lindsay Rousseau, Rachel Ruis and Lori Edmondson; and Chelsea resident Lisa White were tapped for membership into Kappa Delta Pi.
The honor society, founded in 1911, honors all education majors, regardless of subject area specialty, degree obtained, grade-level focus or years of teaching experience.
