Chelsea students feed 10 families for the holidays

Published Tuesday, December 8, 2009

The Chelsea High School Green Club recently raised enough money through student donations to purchase Thanksgiving meals for 10 families.

The funds and food items were collected from Oct. 13-Nov. 15. Students used the money to purchase non-perishable food items donated to the families on Nov. 20 and Nov. 23.

Green Club sponsor Angela Washington said the students started out trying to feed only one family.

Students were so unexpectedly generous, the Green Club was able to feed a total of 10 families this Thanksgiving instead of just one.
