Arrest made in Bryant Bank robbery

HOOVER — A 66-year-old Calera man was arrested Thursday and charged with robbing the Bryant Bank on U.S. 280 earlier this month.
Bank surveillance from June 9 show a man robbing the Bryant Bank of U.S. 280.
U.S. Marshals and Hoover Police arrested Vernon Lacey Riley Jr. at his home Thursday afternoon. He is also a suspect in other bank robberies across Alabama, authorities said.
Riley faces charges of robbery and his currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond.
The Bryant Bank at 5319 Highway 280 was robbed June 9, 2009 at 1:25 p.m.
