Burglary suspect taken into custody

NORTH SHELBY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at a North Shelby residence.
Dispatchers on Monday received a report of a possible burglary in progress at a residence in the 2600 block of Buttewoods Lane. Sheriff’s deputies observed a black male running from the residence when they arrived at the scene.
With assistance from the Hoover and Montevallo police departments, the sheriff’s office launched a search for the suspect, who was arrested at 2:42 p.m. The suspect, whose name has not been released, has yet to be charged.
The incident remains under investigation.
