Frances Stubbs Fried Apple Slices

Frances Stubbs lives in Columbiana and loves to come up with fun dishes for her family to enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 6 tart apples, sliced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup bacon drippings
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- dash of nutmeg
Directions:
In a large skillet melt bacon drippings.
Pour sliced apples evenly over skillet bottom. Sprinkle lemon juice and brown sugar over the top of the apples.
Then salt.
Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes until apples are tender and juicy.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
