Questions about quarry and schools
Published Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Dear Editor,
With the potential of the limestone quarry in Vincent being so close to the schools, why has the Shelby County School Board not answered the many questions about safety of the students?
How will the rock dust affect them?
What effect does the noise from the blasting have on learning?
How will the sinkholes be handled?
Did the paltry $30,000 donation buy their silence?
Or do they see this as a way to get out of supporting schools that they deem unworthy?

Amen! Since Columbiana is making the zoning decisions, who thinks the school board would even care about our kids? If they did they would have started getting answers along time ago. From Washington DC, to Columbiana, to Vincent, AL, government is willing sell their soul for a nickel.
