Shelby County municipalities holding handful of holiday events

Between Nov. 19 and Dec. 19, towns and cities throughout Shelby County will hold several events to spread the Christmas spirit.

Montevallo will kick off the county’s monthlong holiday celebration Nov. 19, as the city will hold its Christmas parade down Main Street at 6 p.m. The Montevallo First Methodist Church will also host a soup supper at the church from 5-8 p.m.

The party will continue Nov. 21 in Harpersville with a Christmas open house at the Deal Pickles consignment shop off Alabama 25 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

On Monday, Nov. 30, Vincent will hold its Christmas parade at 6 p.m., and Pelham will begin its Christmas tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pelham Civic Complex.

Hoover will hold its Christmas tree lighting Thursday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hoover City Hall off U.S. 31.

Several municipalities will celebrate the season Dec. 5, as Wilsonville will host its Christmas bazaar at the Wilsonville United Methodist Church from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Dec. 5 will also feature four Christmas parades, with Alabaster’s beginning at 10 a.m., Helena’s beginning at 2 p.m., Columbiana’s beginning at 3:30 p.m. and Calera’s beginning at 6 p.m.

A week later, Westover will host its Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Dec. 12.

Chelsea will finish out the county’s holiday celebrations by holding its Christmas parade Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
