What is this?
Help abused women before it’s too late
Published Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Dear Editor,
I knew Kim McGuffie and her Mother when she lived on Thompson St. in Columbiana. They used to serve dinners for me without compensation.
They were gentle women with a heart of gold.
Kim McGuffie invited me to her home and she told me that she was a victim of abuse.
She did not share this information freely. I had to leave the home before the husband came home.
She had a well-kept home and was a loving mother. I hate to see her and her mother in the Shelby County jail.
I noticed that a woman was charged with murder in Shelby County and only had a bail of about $200,000, and Kim had a bail of more than $500,000. I am shocked. How does this make sense? Can anyone help her, please? Good luck to you, Kim!
Abused women must come together and help!
