Oak Mountain girls fall in area title game at Hoover

The Oak Mountain High School girls' basketball team fell 54-29 to host Hoover in the Class 6A, Area 10 championship game Feb. 6.

Lay Watts led the Eagles (25-6) with 10 points and seven rebounds. Marisa Tomaszewski chipped in four points and three rebounds.

Oak Mountain will travel to Homewood for a Class 6A sub-regional contest Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs.

Holt 34, Calera 28

A'Kia Harris led the Eagles (4-18) with 16 points in the Class 4A, Area 7 championship game at Holt. Jocelyn Davis added five points.

Calera will travel to Ramsay for a Class 4A sub-regional contest Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.

Montgomery Academy 70, Montevallo 34

Mallory Anderson led the Bulldogs (21-8) with 14 points in the Class 3A, Area 5 championship game at Montgomery Academy. Amber Cardwell added 12 points.

Montevallo will travel to LaFayette in a Class 3A sub-regional game Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
