Shelby County Speedway hosts demolition derby

Regular racing took place last Saturday night at Shelby County Speedway in Wilsonville.

The thunder and lightning division had several cars in the garage this week, leaving only two for competition.

Tim Peters was leading until he ran out of power.

Sandy Dawson picked up the win with Peters in second.

With 13 cars on hand for the hobby race, Jeremy Isbell, driving his purple and yellow No. 76 car, made a clean sweep to victory.

Michael Edwards and Jason Harris raced door to door with Edwards finishing second and Harris settling for third.

David Davis of Vandiver claimed fourth.

Robert George was the first to see the checkered flag in the air in the limited late model class.

Ronnie Revis claimed the second spot.

The pony class was next for a 12-lap feature event.

Don Moncrief held off Shannon Todd to take the win.

Todd finished second followed by Jerry Lopez and Tim Thorton.

Buddy George celebrated in victory lane in the road hogg division.

Jeremy Isbell finished second with Ray Caffee and Tom Black rounding out the top four.

Racing will continue Friday night, Aug. 2 featuring a demolition derby plus racing hobby, pony and hogg cars.

Saturday night, Aug. 3 will be a regular show. All divisions will be featured.
