The 2002 Advent season at Briarwood Presbyterian Church will begin Dec. 1.

All events will be held at the church, which is located on Interstate 459 at Acton Road.

The Chrismon service with the lighting of the Chrismon tree will be at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1.

&uot;A Simple Gift&uot; with drama, music and dance by the Briarwood Ballet and Briarwood’s drama group at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Christmas Traditions on Dec. 8 featuring the children’s choirs at 6 p.m.

Drive-through Nativity, &uot;Emmanuel: God with Us&uot; on Dec. 11-13 from 7-8:45 p.m. with live animals and scenes from the Bible.

The Briarwood Community Christmas Festival at 7 p.m. on Dec. 15 presented by the Chancel Choir, the orchestra and the Briarwood Ballet.

A Christmas Festival of Dance at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 presented by Hosanna Sacred Arts and Ballet Exaltation. Ticket purchase is required.

Service of Lessons and Carols at 6 p.m. on Dec. 22. Christmas hymns and scripture readings.

Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. Candlelight communion service will be held at 11 p.m.

A Michael Faircloth concert will be held Dec. 29 at 6 p.m. The concert pianist will lead during a time of worship
