City will have hearing on plan

The city of Pelham announced plans for a public hearing to vote on a comprehensive plan for the city at its regular Dec. 2 meeting.

&uot;Continuing the Progress: Pelham Comprehensive Plan 2025,&uot; will be voted on by the Pelham City Council at the Dec. 16 meeting following a public hearing.

The plan includes guidelines for land use in the city and future growth, creating more village-like commercial areas and possibly even a new school system.

Pelham Mayor Bobby Hayes said the draft still requires some minor changes before it is voted on by the council.

A draft of the plan can be viewed at City Hall.

Three more public hearings were announced to address rezoning requests for properties on Highway 261, Valleyview Road and Pardue Road at the Dec. 16 meeting.

The council also voted to approve a restaurant retail liquor and club liquor license for Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe on Cahaba Valley Road
